Position Title: Data Analyst

Job Summary
The Data Analyst will be responsible for supporting HIT activities in the Baltimore/Washington region. The successful candidate will work to design, develop, and maintain a data analytics platform solution. CRISP is currently running an Azure Data Lake 2 / Azure Data Factory / Spark / Databricks infrastructure with approximately 300 production use cases that consolidate several streams of healthcare data. This role will primarily focus on the creation of new use cases through Databricks queries including communication, technical proficiency, collaboration, and willingness to learn new things.
The Data Analyst will work with multiple curated datasets, building complex queries for critical healthcare outputs and provide validation skills to ensure the information provided to users is accurate and complete. The role will require interaction with external data submitters, various CRISP team members, and with data consumers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Process healthcare ad-hoc queries within the extensive CRISP healthcare data lake
- Analyze algorithms used in curated use case, and provide a combination of validation and algorithm improvement progressively
- Fully understand and document the nature of CRISP’s many sources of data
- Work with other analysts and data engineers to improve data quality
- Test and validate deliverables (QA)

- Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Strong attention to detail
- An understanding of how healthcare data is used in the field
- Familiarity with web-based tools and other reporting tools, data mining skills a plus
- Data visualization proficiency, PowerBi and/or Tableau preferred
- SQL expertise (entry level - intermediate)
Experience and/or Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in public health and/or health information technology, or a data intensive field
- 1+ years of experience with data-oriented projects. May substitute relevant coursework for experience.
- Experience working with clinical data or informatics a plus
